RUN Launches Recovery Campaign for Niue Tourism
As COVID-19 has caused significant damage to the tourism world, RUN have launched an integrated marketing campaign for Niue Tourism, to let travellers know the Pacific island is missing them too.
‘Fakaalofa lahi atu’ meaning 'hello' and ‘love towards you’ is the central message behind the campaign, set to assist the recovery of Niue’s tourism industry after being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
RUN worked closely with Niue Tourism on a four-phase Tourism Recovery Marketing Plan. Phase one of the integrated campaign is to keep Niue in travellers’ minds, by reaching out in a sensitive manner to both New Zealand and the rest of the world affected by the pandemic.
Niue Tourism acting chief executive Moka Ioane-Laufoli said: “While travel around the Pacific region is still a way off, it’s important for Niue to tell our Kiwi and Aussie neighbours that we all miss each other and we want to connect again.”
With the help from Auckland based design and creative agency RUN, the campaign features ads with smiling Niuean faces and showcases the island’s natural beauty, made with photography and video footage shot prior to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The above the line campaign will run across Niue’s digital channels, such as social media, Niueisland.com website and e-newsletters.
