RUN went a bit further than just creating a client Christmas gift, we created a whole side business. The idea started out with our usual brief, to create something memorable that clients would keep or enjoy, to remind them of us and show off our design skills at the same time. Since we’re called Run, we created a ‘Run Rum’. We decided to take a different angle from traditional rum stories of pirates and nautical themes, and create our own identity. We named our rum Noitasrevnoc (‘conversation’ backwards), as the flavour profile of each limited edition batch would be based around a conversation with a person – the first being our Creative Director Raymond McKay. The label features an illustration of Raymond, in a flat vector style, using a bright but minimal colour palette, strongly incorporating our Run red colour. They are finished with a wine varnish, high build accents and individually hand numbered – all part of the small batch, high quality, personal touch we wanted for our clients, showing them they’re cherished individuals. We hand delivered our rum gifts to each client, along with a tasting. To further enhance this experience we created a bespoke case. Noitasrevnoc was a definite talking point and well received by our clients, who are already asking about the next batch. And so the story continues.
